Stephanie McGrath, PharmD

Stephanie Harriman McGrath PharmD is the host of the Beyond the Sig podcast. Stephanie is the Executive Director of Network Operations of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Care Network. Through this role she supports the growth of high quality network pharmacies, and engages stakeholders such as health plans to demonstrate the value pharmacists provide in improving patient health outcomes and reducing overall health care costs.

Prior to this position, Dr. McGrath served as a Clinical Pharmacist with Rite Aid Corporation, where she started an American Association of Diabetes Educators diabetes education accreditation program and persistently worked to engage patients in their own health care. She helped the growth and development of clinical programs within Rite Aid as an APhA Immunization Program and certified American Heart Association CPR instructor. She also served as the primary preceptor for the PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program with Rite Aid and the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. McGrath is an active Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association member and was honored as the 2013 Distinguished Young Pharmacist, and one of the 2017 “Ten Under Ten” awards for PPA.

Dr. McGrath is also Senior Program Manager and Adjunct Clinical Instructor with the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. She previously served as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy from 2010-14 where she contributed to the community pharmacy curriculum She was recognized in 2013 as the APhA-ASP Faculty Member of the Year and in 2015 as a Rising Star from the Alumni Society Board. She currently works with students to advance community pharmacy practice in Pennsylvania.
