Dr. Jason Cavolina is the host of the “Evidence-based Podcast” —EvidencebasedPodcast.com

Jason was born and raised on Long Island, NY spending most of his life growing up in Southampton, NY. Dr. Cavolina graduated from Long Island University Southampton College with a Bachelor’s degree in biology. He went on to work in the Department of Orthopaedic research at the Mayo Clinic where he investigated the effects of spaceflight on bone. Under the advisorship of Russell Turner, PhD and in conjunction with NASA Ames Research Center, Dr. Cavolina published 3 scientific papers on the subject including papers in the prestigious journals Endocrinology and Bone.

Dr. Cavolina earned his Masters degree from the University of Connecticut in Physiology and Neurobiology. Dr. Cavolina concentrated his studies in the area of neuroendocrine control of reproduction.  Dr. Cavolina earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from LIU Pharmacy in 2006.  During his time at LIU Pharmacy Dr. Cavolina presided over the College of Pharmacy as its student President, Phi Lambda Sigma president, served on the Disciplinary Committee, the Council of Overseers, was a member Rho Ch and Alpha Xi.

For 10 years Dr. Cavolina managed the largest volume pharmacies on Long Island’s East End for CVS Health.  Though passionate about being a retail pharmacist Dr. Cavolina found it increasingly difficult to make and take the time needed to properly CARE for his patients in the fast paced retail environment. Dr. Cavolina felt change was needed in the pharmacy profession as a whole. Dr. Cavolina joined RXVIP Concierge in 2015 to affect that much needed change. In January of 2018 Dr. Cavolina was promoted to President and CEO of RXVIP.

As president of RXVIP he endeavors each and every day to raise awareness and educate patients, health care providers and pharmacists that there is a Pharmacogenetic (PGx) tests available today that will identify life-saving genetic variations that will reduce the risk of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs). In January of 2020 Dr. Cavolina joined CareOne Concierge as Vice President of Clinical Operations where he created a highly impactful at home COVID19 testing program, developed a diabetes Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) program, and a telehealth Medicare Annual Wellness Visit program.
